Organizing Work, Side Projects, and Life Admin With Plans

Why splitting your tasks into separate plans — instead of one giant list — keeps each goal's context intact.

One list gets messy fast

A single flat to-do list works for a weekend, not for a life that includes a job, a side project, and the errands that keep a household running. Mixing them means every scroll through your tasks is also a context switch.

A plan per goal

In AI Todo, a Plan is a self-contained goal: its own title, its own task list, and its own AI chat thread. That last part matters more than it sounds — because the chat is scoped to the plan, the AI only ever sees that plan's context when you're refining it. Asking "move the launch back a week" inside your side-project plan can't accidentally touch your work tasks.

Typical split:

PlanContains
WorkSprint tasks, 1:1 prep, deadlines
Side projectAnything tied to a personal build or goal
HomeErrands, appointments, household admin

Staying unified without one giant list

Splitting into plans doesn't mean losing the big picture:

  • My Day pulls today's tasks in from every plan into a single view.
  • The calendar shows due dates across all plans at once.
  • Switching between plans in the sidebar is instant, so checking on a different goal never means leaving the app.

Start with two or three plans that match how your time is already divided, and add a new one only when a goal is big enough to deserve its own thread — not for every one-off errand.
